You pretend that this man saying his love for his family is diminished is 'threatening anyone' when Trump supporters ACTUALLY threaten people, like the governor of Michigan, with real violence, and openly carry guns to polling places. You create false equivalency. 'Honeymooned in the USSR'? All this weird talk about 'lowering' and 'humbling' is just lame. You're comparing symbolic 'insults' (you feel lowered) with REAL legal reductions in protections like doctors being able to refuse treatment. No doctor is able to refuse treatment to someone who is a Christian because law protects US citizens against prejudice on the basis of religion. But LGBTQ people are having those same protections stripped. 'White victim' ideology is built on false equivalences and imagined offences. I hope Trump gets smashed in the election and the current generation of Republican leaders who have gone along with this prejudice and ugly racism put out of office.
