11. He believes that adults who do not live in romance novel fantasy lives do not need to be 'pursued' to be validated and takes your feigned disinterest to be actual disinterest. Not realizing that your 'disinterest' is fake and not motivated by the idea that men should 'pursue' women who are not interested in them (that is, not a borderline stalker), he goes the hell away and finds someone who actually demonstrates complementary interest and communicates what they really feel.

(God, this column is stupid. With relationship advice like this, no wonder people can't figure this stuff out.)
